Soviet prisoners of war

Soviet prisoners of war were unlawfully used for war production. As the Nazis classified them as "subhumans" (Untermenschen), they were even more badly treated than POWs from other countries. Overall, about 5.7 million members of the Red Army became German prisoners of war, and 3.3 million of them died.
